During this COVID-19 pandemic everyone is in a state of confusion and panic, constantly on the edge of their seats hoping for any sign of relief or a vaccine; It’s critical to remain calm and think practically while all of us continue to contribute in our efforts of social distancing. With a forced shift in our everyday lives that this virus brought among us, there has been notable changes that are affecting our communities. Our tenants have recognized some of these challenges and are extending their hands in supporting these efforts. Let’s look at some wonder examples of our tenants providing their assistance where it matters. Remember we’re all in this together.

Tenants who are donating food or money to communities impacted by food shortages:

Stop and Shop – Donated $1,000,000 divided into 13 regional food banks.

Beach Shopping Center – Nonna’s Brick Oven Pizzeria – Noted that grocery stores that have suffered of mass shortages of food, pasta, and the essentials and is working with their suppliers to provide the community with pasta, oil, canned soup, rice, flour, sugar, fresh produce, meats, etc.

KFC – Sending one million pieces of chicken to KFC restaurants across the country, earmarked specifically to support local communities in need through donation.

Pop Eye’s – They’re waiving the delivery free from order. They know that millions of children are still in need of lunches so they’re urging those who order to place a donation to “No Kid Hungry” and will make the donation.

Subway – Subway Franchise Owners are supporting local communities and organizations with food donation. Domino’s – Stores across the nation are banding together to donate 10 million slices to help #FeedTheNeed in your neighborhood.

McDonalds – Donatied $3.1 million worth of food which include dairy, beef, produce, fruit and bakery items.

Chipotle – Donating 100,000 burritos to healthcare heroes aiding individuals during this time.

Taco Bell – Taco Bell Foundation donated $1 million to “No Kid Hungry”.

Mohawk Commons – Blaze Pizza – Donated pizza to the staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey

Tenants that are donating supplies to those assisting in the fight covid-19

Jo-Anns – Through their “Make to Give” program, through the joint effort of their partners and volunteer donations, they’re creating mask for medical professionals with a goal of making 100 million mask to donate.

Beach Shopping Center – Gentle Care Pediatric Dentistry – Donating supplies, such as mask, to local hospital lacking in resources.

Harbor Freight – Donated 44 million gloves and 100,000 masks to hospitals.

Old Navy – Donated $1 million to families struggling during this crisis. Supplied millions of mask/gowns for healthcare workers. Lent space in their facilities to emergency responders on the ground.

Sherwin-Williams – Supported healthcare heroes through donations of N95 masks, gloves and hand sanitizer.

Mahopac Village Centre – Advanced Auto Parts – Team at distribution center donated masks to hospital.

Mid Valley – Citi Trends – Store associates gathered medical scrubs, non-perishable food, snacks and Easter Baskets from their stores to give back to their local organizations.

Target – Committed to donating 2 million KN95 respirator masks to the medical community

Hilltop Commons – Tipsy Tomato – Offers $6 off pizza pies for Police, Hospital, EMS, Fire Department and even local Grocery Store workers for providing their service during this time.

Starbucks – The Starbucks Foundation donated more than $3 million commitment to COVID-19 relief efforts around the world and giving free coffee to first responders and healthcare workers dealing with coronavirus

Tenants who are temporarily offering benefits to employees

Texas Roadhouse – CEO gave up his salary and bonus for the rest of the year to pay employees.

Verizon – Ran the #PayItForwardLIVE campaign which they donated $10 to small businesses every time someone used the tag pledging how they would support small businesses during this crisis.

Bj’s Wholesale Club – Donated $500,000 from the BJ’s Charitable Foundation to support local and national organizations which provide essential services and support to those in need. – Recognized team members for their hard work by offering increased pay and bonuses. – Hiring for temporary and permanent positions

Autozone – Provided all part-time and full-time employees with COVID-19 emergency benefit enhancement in the U.S. and Puerto Rico to help deal with the challenges they may face as a result of COVID-19.

Cosmo Prof – Professional Beauty Association has set up a relief fund to support licensed beauty professionals who have not been able to work or are experiencing financial hardships due to COVID-19.

Rite Aid – Hiring 5,000 associates

Tenants who shifted their work over to an online platform

Weight Watchers – Offering clients a new Virtual Studio in Connect through their Weight Watchers App.

Fleet Feet Sports – Allowing customers to compete in virtual races using their GPS watches. This allows those who trained so hard for marathons to participate while maintaining social distancing rules.

Mathnasium – Offering online tutors so students’ home from school can continue learning math with real-time instruction.

Sprint – Through their 1Million Project, they’re connecting students to their School Districts by providing them with 10 GB of free monthly high-speed wireless data and devices.

Planet Fitness – Froze memberships for all their customers and is using Planet Fitness App/Facebook Live for FREE at-home workouts for anyone.
